these damb porabolas got me stumped, what is the equation for a parabola when the x ints are 4 and -4 and goes through the point (2,-20)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ive gotten up to -20=-6a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the ints are 4 and -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not -4 and 4

OpenStudy (mertsj):

If it crosses the x axis at 4 and -3 then it must have factors (x-4)(x+3) So we can write y = a(x-4)(x+3) Then replace x with 2 and y with -20 and find a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 20 with a okay i put -20 as y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mertsj r u sure you put -20 in a

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Then replace x with 2 and y with -20 and find a REPLACE X WITH 2 REPLACE Y WITH -20

OpenStudy (anonymous):
