A woman drove at an average speed of 50 miles/hour for 2 hours. Then, she stopped for 1 hour toe at lunch. Finally, she drove at an average speed of 40 miles/hour for 5 hours. How many miles did she drive all together?

OpenStudy (hunus):

She drove 50 miles/hour for 2 hours. \[\frac{50 mi}{hr}*2hr=100mi\] for the first part of the trip, then for the second part (after she stopped for lunch) \[\frac{40mi}{hr}*5hr=200mi\] thus, in all she drove 300 miles

Remember the Velocity formula! Distance= Speed*Time.
