How did Hitler lead Germany into a catastrophe? I am writing my English Extended essay. please help

I am not completely sure how to answer the question, because Hitler lead Germany into a catastrophe by starting the holocaust. It cost Germany a lot. I think it started though, that he denied a type of people the freedom to speak out, through press or any other influential thing. But the truth is other than that, I am not so sure, I still hope it helps!

Begin with describing Hitler's rise to the chancellor and the post of Prime Minister in his country. Then his anti-Jewish beliefs. Then what he did after he became Prime Minister. People didnt have any rights, millions of Jews were terrorized, and the whole government came under Hitler's dictatorship. Many people emigrated from Germany, in search for citizenship of other countries(The citizenship of Jews was taken away).
End with how Hitler met his end, and the steps taken to revive Germany after that.
