Which Has a higher temperature? A blue colored star or a red colored star? your answer must clearly state the law by which you derived your answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that as you increase the temperature, wavelength decreases... so a blue color star will be having higher temperature then that of red color..... I don't know what law exactly say this... but this is correct answer.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you are partly correct but without the law the answer has no significance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can search about which law exactly say this... or may be any other peer tell us the law

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

Blue is the hottest and the law you're looking for is Wein's Law

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks stormfire

OpenStudy (stormfire1):

np :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

blue colored star becaz according to wen's displacement law wavelength is inversely proportional to temperature. so since blue star has less wavelength than red.... temperature of blue will b more dan red
