The electron emitted in beta radiation orginates from?

Okay so what happens during beta decay?
If an atom has too many neutrons one of the neutrons undergo beta-minus decay and gets converted into an proton. There is a principle that states that charge has to be conserved, that is why we get an electron to counteract the positive charge of the proton. An anti-neutrino is also emitted. So the electron comes from a neutron.
