ok

I need help knowing how to solve it.

OpenStudy (katrinakaif):

It is a right traingle; thus we can use the pythagorean thm. Try to set it up as we did before in: a^2 + b^2 = c^2 format

OpenStudy (mertsj):

It is a special right triangle...the 45-45-90 Did you learn about those?

OpenStudy (katrinakaif):

My apologies, I did not realize you are missing two sides and not any single side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, i've learned about them but they're really confusing to me.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

the legs are equal and the hypotenuse is the leg multiplied by square root of 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin 45 = opp/ hypo

OpenStudy (mertsj):

So y = 7 and x = 7(sqrt2)=7(1.414)=9.9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oops, sorry Mertsj!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm still confused here..

OpenStudy (precal):
