\[\lim_{n \rightarrow \infty}a(1-r^n)/(1-r)\]
if |r|<1 then the value tends to a/(1-r). if |r|>1 then the value tends to infinity ( assuming a>0 )
don't really understand, how can |r|<1 happen when you have already that the absolute value of it
