Solve arctan(-sqrt(3)) I know the answer is pi/3 by plugging into my calculator but how do I find this mathimatically? The book is really useless...

There are a few angles you should memorize sin,cos,tan 0 deg 30 60 90 in particular, tan60 (or tan pi/3 rads) = sqrt(3) Because you have a negative sqrt(3) the angle is either 120 or 300 degrees
