multiply each side of the equation by an appropriate power of 10 to obtain integer coefficients. then solve the equation 0.8m(to the power of two) +m-0.3=0

OpenStudy (phi):

you can multiply both sides by 10 (that means multiply every term by 10)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[.8^{2}+m-.3=0 \] so then it would be \[8m ^{20}+m ^{10}-3=10\]

OpenStudy (phi):

when you multiply by a number, you do not change the exponents. if you have m^2 * 10 you get 10m^2 think of it like this if you multiply by 10, it is the same as adding the same thing 10 times m^2 + m^2 + m^2 + .... you get 10 m^2 so try again, and you should get 8m^2 +10m-3 = 0 (btw 0 times 10 = 0!)

oh yeah!!! thank you so much :)
