Can you guide me on how to do this problem. 4r^3 s^5/10r^8 s^6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To simplify, subtract the powers on the bottom from the powers with the same base on top.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For example, you could expand it. the top has r^3, which expanded looks like r*r*r the bottom has r^8, which is r*r*r*r*r*r*r*r if you cancel them, there are 5 r on bottom and none on top. Do the same with each other parts.
