A system consists of He gas with an internal energy of 1500j. If the gas receives 525J of heat from its surroundings and does PV work on them at the same time, what is its final energy? Given volume change of 4.23. Given 1500j Given 525j Using -PV formula you get -4.23atm Multiply -4.23atm * 101.3J you get -428J -428J + 525J=97J. I get all that, but why do you 1500J + 97J to get 1597J?
