how do i solve the equation of the line which passes through (5, –2) and is parallel to x = 4

OpenStudy (radar):

X = 4 is a vertical line so the line parallel will also be vertical. Does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the equation of vertical lines are always x = a where a is the x-intercept. Since it's parallel both lines should be vertical

OpenStudy (radar):

Since it will pass thru x=5, that is also the equation for the line.
