Can someone please check this and make sure I did it correctly.

Looks good. Remember to italicize the title and since you retrieved it from an online data base, can you see a digital object identifier (doi) anywhere? it'll be a long sequence of numbers. If so use that in place of the name of the database. It'll look like this:

Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date of publication). Title of article. Title of Journal, volume number, page range. doi:0000000/000000000000

No we are not allowed to use the URL or DOI. Do I leave Retrieved March 5, 2012, from Academic Search Premier database on the end? I guess instead of only putting (2005) I should put (May, 2005)?

(2005, May). And why are you not allowed to use the doi? That is APA 6th Ed rules.

We are suppose to assume that they are not available. I have not had to do this is so long it is frustrating

Well then it's virtually pointless to do a reference. If the material is not available then how can someone verify your references. You could put whatever you want. Makes no sense. Give you teachers what they want, goes without saying, but i think that it is stupid to buck current APA rules for such a lame reason. How do they expect you guys to learn how to do it right if they don't let you do it right?

So anyway, if they want you to use 5th Ed rules so be it. If that's the case, your entry other than the date as we mentioned, is right.
