I do not understand the significance of Leisler's Rebellion. I am aware that Jacob Leisler attempted to overthrow the government in 1689 which took place in NY. And I believe his objective was to give the poor the riches money. He led a revolt. And eventually Leisler got executed. Is the significance to this was that this event changed the way government ran things? Political changes were made? Please help me to understand. Thank you.
