I just noticed there's an OCW scholar version of this course now, at least i don't think it used to be there. Any thoughts on crossing over?
Could you attache the link here?
The problems sets look different and there are Recitation vids. I'm tempted to switch. I've just finished watching lecture 5 and am feeling so lost. Theoretically I understand but when I attempt to write the code for the problem sets I am immediately struck with the white paper block syndrome. Maybe if I can see some student interactions in the Recitation vids that would change.
Thanks for the question siBerman and the link morgkl6 - I don't think that these classes teach you any more about Python and programming than this one, but it looks like MIT OCW is trying to beef up their core course offerings - if you look at many of the other courses they offer, you frequently see only partial lecture notes and sparse homework assignments posted - hardly a class at all. These seem to be complete classes, but this particular comp sci (the non-scholar one we are in now) is also extremely complete and doesn't seem to differ that much from this 'scholar' version (recitation videos aside). Of course feel free to switch but if you have already started this one I don't see much benefit in doing so.
Hey, yeah i'm up to pset8, so i guess i'll push through with this version. I haven't yet, but taking a look at the recitation vids might be a good idea just to get some conceptual reinforcement, some of the problem sets look interesting too, the one on cyphers especially.
Im on lecture 12, so Im probably just going to use the scholar videos to help me if I dont understand something
How to check the PS solutions in the Scholar version...Please let me know if you know any link for solutions
