viruses cant be considered living organisms because they lack the capacity to develop the basic metabolic functions that maintain an organism alive, instead whay they do is become parasites of living cells changing the normal behaviour of a specific cell to another that will permit the virus itself to develop.
their main components are genetic material in the form of DNA or RNA, single or double stranded and a proteic capsule that sorrounds the genetic info. of the virus.
