To draw the rough sketch of a function, is it a number line or a graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Functions are typically shown on graphs. If you have an inequality, the graph of it is shown with a number line. Do you have a particular function in mind?

x^2(2x-1)(3-x)^3

Oh boy, that looks like a mess. The behavior of this polynomial is too complex to show on a number line. Since it's a function (as all polynomials are functions), it'll go on a graph.

Do you know calculus?

no,but thank-you. that helps!

You're welcome :)
