Rought ER, is assosisated with ribosomes. It is where molecules and proteins are made.
Smooth ER, lacks ribosomes and is involved in the metabolism of certain compounds and synthesis of lipids and steroids.
Structural diffrence is that Rough ER has ribosomes attached to it.
