Although I don't think it helps you answer the question, I think a strong case could be made for any of the options.

Humans do release poisonous chemicals into the enviroment - for example, DDT which softened the shells of birds eggs. Unsustainable forestry on a large scale does irreparably destroy forests to the extent that some species may become extinct - for example, logging in the Amazon rainforest basin. And climate change which results from high carbon emissions does, in places, lead to extreme weather and extreme drought.
