Which measurement helps check the ecological issue of global warming that the world is currently facing?Select one of the options below as your answer:A. carbon footprintB. nitrogen footprintC. hydrocarbon footprint
Do you have a guess based on the question I just answered?
I do although im doing 3 different subjects atm answering so many D:
In the last question I said that, "...And climate change which results from high carbon emissions does, in places, lead to extreme weather and extreme drought."
Its A :)
Yes, I think so too. I'd just like to point out that carbon emissions come in many forms. People talk alot about reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions which are what come from cars, but other carbon combouns like carboflurocarbons (CFS) and methane (CH4) which comes from natural gas and so called black carbon (soot, woodsmoke, etc) are much much more potent greenhouse gases.
Which pollutes the air
Yes - they destroy the layer of the earth's atmosphere which reflects solar radiation, so more heat from the sun gets to the earth's surface and doesn't get out. Which leads to global warming and climage change.
So its all our fault that the world is like this.
It's much our fault, yes. Climates do change naturally so it is hard to tell just how much climate change is due to humans, but all of science suggests that a good deal of it is down to us. ; (
;( Im switching to a bike from now on
That is a wonderful sentiment - but actually scientific studies have found that it does not reduce your carbon footprint all that much. The actual act of pedalling the bicycle is much, much better. But to pedal a bike, you need fuel. That fuel (food) has to be shipped to you very quickly from where it is grown to reach you before it spoils, which requires a great deal of gas. So if you factor in all those emissions, it's still cleaner but not by much. The take home message is that some things which seem obvious are deceptive and good, solid, objective science and studies are needed to sort out exactly how to reduce carbon usage.
Its helps a bit though :)
