solvex x2=4

OpenStudy (hihi67):

x=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Assuming you mean x^2. What's the opposite of raising a number to a power?

myininaya (myininaya):

hihi gives one solution is there another I wonder?

OpenStudy (callisto):

or if you mean \[x ^{2} =4\] then ,it is x=2 or x=-2

OpenStudy (hihi67):

well, if its x * 2=4, x is 2. if its x^2= 4 then x=-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm. Almost. A squared value has two roots, since squaring either the negative or the positive equivalent of the root will give the same answer.

(As myininaya hinted at and Callisto demonstrated.)
