Ai = deltaX/2 ((f(X-i) + 4f(Xi) + f(X+i)) in Simpson’s Rule why do we multiply f(Xi) with 4, where has it come from or is just a formula that we have to remember at any cost?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where this 4 has come from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does it mean that f(xi) has been used for times i.e. once for f(x-i) twice for itself and once for f(x+i) ?
