The figure below shows a cubical box that has been constructed from uniform metal plate of negligible thickness. The box is open at the top and has edge length L = 27 cm. Find the coordinates of the center of mass of the box. ____x coordinate ____y coordinate ____z coordinate

because it's a cubical box, all edges are the same length. therefore, the center of mass is the midpoint of each edge.

but it has no top. I'm having trouble finding z. I know x and y are 13.5 but z its telling me the answer is different

oh i see. my first thought then is to take a physics approach then. because the bottom adds mass to the box, so the center of mass should actually be less than 13.5
