. Select one of the environmental issues facing both the United States and Canada. Explain how the countries have worked together to solve this problem.
i need help! plz plz help.
I think the most timely is probably the planned Keystone Pipeline. If built, the pipeline is to carry oil extracted from tar sands in Alberta to oil refineries on the Gulf coast in the US. Many environmental activists (in both countries) are against extraction and use of tar sand oil because its extraction and refinement are so environmentally damaging. It is a little tougher to discuss how the governments of the two countries are cooperating: a decision on construction of the pipeline was recently delayed in the U.S.; Canada is continuing a public relations campaign (mostly in Europe) to salvage its image with respect to caring about the environment. A lot more cooperation is going on between environmental groups and First Peoples on both sides of the border.
I answered this question because environmental issues do pertain to biology, which is what this group is all about. I think you will probably get a better response to your history question by posting it in the history group. Clear?
thanks alot!
