how will homologous chromosomes in the human karyotype be similar

OpenStudy (liliakarina):

Number of chromosomes in a cell is characteristic of each species. Human being has 46 chromosomes in each somatic cell distributed in 23 pairs. Every pair is formed with similar chromosomes; this similarity is determined by size and shape. For this reason, chromosomes that form each pair are called homologous chromosomes. Scientists organize and numerate chromosomes according to their shape and size; this representation is called karyotype. The karyotype is like a photograph of the complete set of ordered chromosomes.
