what are the differences between the different types of mutations?
If you are asking in relation to genetics, some mutations are deletion, insertion, inversion, substitution and translocation.
The difference between translocation and the other 4 is that translocation is for whole bits of chromosomes (its often lethal) while the other 4 are small mutations in the nucleotide sequence of DNA.
Oh, btw, just for the for future, you should ask bio questions in the biology section :P

Oh, ok, if its for chem. class, you could be a bit more specific with the answer and talk about the structure of the nucleotides & the bonding, but thats probably not required as it doesn't directly answer the question.
