You'll need to use the quadratic formula: \[x=-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac} /2a\]. First insert the a, b, and c values from the problem (Based on: \[Ax^2+Bx+C=0\] ) Then plug in everything and then divide by 2a, as indicated by the formula. This will give you both x values. Note that you will add negative b the first time, and then subtract -b due to the \[\pm\] sign.
