y=f(x)-2 does it translate to the left or down?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

down, if it was translated left, it would be f(x+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

assuming f(x) is our starting point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks bro

np

f(x) = y, so y + 2 =x, or whatever it is, so the quation would be f(x) = x -2 I think or am I wrong?
