Pattern question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't seem to figure this out:

OpenStudy (ash2326):

What you do, just add tiles to the right . Maintaining the pattern. First white and then black. When you reach the last row. Then add tiles below this row. Maintain the pattern as earlier. And just count the tiles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this a tricky one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did that, and I got 4 black tiles. Problem is, it's not an option.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe you forgot the corner one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

each white tile will have a black tile adjacent to it, then there will be black tile in the corner

OpenStudy (anonymous):

chess anyone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait, I think you're right!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is 5, i am willing to bet that you neglected the one in the corner

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I forgot that you have to make a corner! Thanks guys!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem. :)
