Suppose that we wanted to look at the age of a person, the height of a person, the amount of time spent waiting in line, or maybe the lifetime of a battery. Each of these quantities have values that will range over an interval of integers. what does mean by the last line "...will range over an interval of integers."???

Directrix (directrix):

I think of the values ranging over a restricted interval of integers. Age, height, waiting time, and battery lifetime are all variables that do not span the entire set of Real numbers. A person is not 20 feet tall and that quantity would be not be included in the restricted interval which would comprise the range.

seems unlikely to me that the amount of time spent would range over an interval of integers, but that is ok

correct
