how do I finish simplifying (6x^2 - 5) (-3x^2 - x - 7) i got it to that but what do i do with the x that has no exponent when i combine like terms since it has none?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think of the x as being 1x so if you are unable to combine with any other x's then just leave as 1x

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

you need to expand and collect like terms -18x^4 -6x^3 -42x^2 +15x^2 +5x + 35 is the expansion 18x^4 - 6x^3 28x^2 + 5x + 35

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

oops -18x^4 - 6x^3 -28x^2 + 5x + 35
