i need help understanding how to do this math problem.... i A can do a job in 6 days and B can do the same job in 3 days how long will it take if they do it together

we have to find how much each can accomplish in 1 day and then proceed from there...

A can do the job in 6 days
So in 1 day A can do 1/6 of the job

B can do same job in 3 days
So in 1 day B can do 1/3 of the job
1 1 1 + 2 3 1
Together in 1 day, they can do --- + --- of the job i.e. ------- = ---- = ----
6 3 6 6 2
1
So A and B together can finish ---- of the work in 1 day

So together A and B can finish the entire job in 2 days.
