how do u do eqivalent fractions

OpenStudy (chriss):

Equivalent fractions are fractions that have the same value for example \[\frac{1}{2}/ and/ \frac{2}{4}\]

OpenStudy (chriss):

you can create them by multiplying the same number by the numerator and the denominator. In my example, 1/2 is multiplied by 2/2

thnks

OpenStudy (radar):

As long a you multiply by 1 (knowing that 1 = 2/2, 4/4, a/a etc) you can make an equivalent fraction. For example take the fraction 2/3 multiply it by 1 Using 5/5, you get 10/15 which is an equivalent.
