Why do windows at night behave more like mirrors than they do in mornings?

OpenStudy (jamesj):

They only appear to do so. I'm sitting next to a window right now and I can't see my reflection, but I see a what's outside, as it is daylight and bright. At night however, not much light comes through the window and the image of my reflection, the signal of it if you will, is not drowned out by the strong amplitude of the light passing through it from outside.

Feel like an 8 year old asking this question, but good explanation. Thanks!
