OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just curious, what did they say the answer was?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it doesnt tell me the answer lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cross multiplication 100 *100 / 250 if 100 is 250 percent of something then what is the hundred percent of the same thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand that..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its 40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

250 % of X is 100 then at 100 percent what is X. 100-------- 250 x----------100 do the cross multiplication to find what X is 100*100/250

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you had to divide 100 by 2.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which = 40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope, think about a number that is 2.5 times the amount of 100 and you get your answer. Of course it's going to be more since anything more than 100% of a number is going to be greater than the original number.

Seems to be a bit of confusion here. 100 is 250% of? as an equation : 100 = 2.5X, or X= 100/2.5 = 40 We can say it this way: 250% of 40 = 100 It is similar to this problem: 5 is 10% of what number? 5 is 10% of 50. or, saying it the other way round, 10% of 50 = 5
