Given the formula v=u+at, find: a) u if v=24, a=5 and t=3 b)t if v=39, u=15 and a=8 simply working out please thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is just plug and chug math plug it intoa calculator if you dont want to do the pencil work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please don't listen to that idiot. First you have to isolate u. Substract at from both side to get v - at = u. Here you can replace the variables by their numerical values, so you get: 24 - (5*3) = u 24 - 15 = u u = 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you do part b using similar steps?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey i am not an idiot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he was talking about me not you, and neither am i

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i dont or understand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he was talking about me when he said "dont listen to that idiot"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get it know what about b) t if v=39, u=15 and a=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its the same proccess just plug in the numbers for the variables and solve for what ever is left

OpenStudy (anonymous):

at means a x t, so just fit in the values into the equation... v = u + at, so fit in the values, 39 = 15 + 8t --> 39 - 15 = 8t --> 24 = 8t --> 8t = 24 --> t = 24/8 --> t = 3 --> :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get this one but b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry, wat do u mean by b? isn't that wat u needed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

t if v=39, u=15 and a=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm, i just answered b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no u didn't
