Roy and Valerie are playing a game of tic-tac-toe. In how many different ways can the first 4 moves in the game be made? I tried 9P4 (since, I figured the order mattered in tic-tac-toe) but that didn't work. Then I tried 9C4, but that didn't work either.
9*4!
But why?
Actually
That doesn't even work
Since the answer is in the thousands
i would think it would be 9*8*7*6 , which represents the possible choices available at each turn
That works... and that's actually true.
4! = 24, 24 x 9 = 216
then *9
What is that?
start with this if you have four tires for a car how many combinations of placements couldyou have without repeating them
Uh... Idk.... I would think either 16 or 4 or 24. 16 from 4 x 4, 4 from 4P4, and 24 from 4 x 3 x 2 x 1
ACK! 4P4 wouldn't work, I meant 4C4...
Right? x_x
Even that doesn't work, though
yes 4! = 24 so you should be looking for a quite large number since you have 9 spaces not fourfor each move.
|dw:1331194872885:dw| if this is the first posiion there are 26 moves just from this position
