What are Holes, Vertical/Horizontal Asymptotes and Extraneous Solutions and how to I find them in an equation to graph?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

holes in a graph are the places where the graph simply looks like it got erased. vas are places that the graph likes to cozy up next to bu never touch; it slids right up along side. and there are no extraneous solutions on a graph other than simply plotting a domain that was not meant to be used to begin with.
