You will write an informal letter to the editor for this short essay. You should pretend that you are a person living at the end of World War I. You will write a short (one paragraph minimum) letter to the editor of your local newspaper and try to make an argument “for” or “against” the League of Nations. You must clearly state why you think that the United States’ joining the League would be a good idea or not a good idea. help!

Dear Editor, When will we end this tragical war? I have been asking myself that every day. Life's getting tougher by every minute that passes. Most boys from the orphanage got killed during the war. Matt, my dear friend, had died. For he was attacked in his way to send a message from the general. I have much sadness in my heart. Tears are fighting to drop out of my eyes, but I won't let them. Matt would have said to be brave. The war is almost over. I wished Matt could see it. He and I always wished for peace. That is why I agree with the League of Nations. There job is to ensure that war never broke out again. I have always dreamed for war never to break out. The United States had joined the league. I agree that it is a very good idea. I never want war to break out again that is why I agree. If war breaks out again, life will be tough. Scarce food and much more starvation will happen if it did. I can't wait for WW1 to stop. I hope the League of Nations will do a good job. My hearty was full of happiness when I heard the war was going to end. World War 1 also known as the great war is about to end at last. Yours truly, ( a person of peace ) Miranda Bartlett November 11, 1918
