Describe what happens during prophase I and metaphase I and how these phases play an important role in the genetic diversity of the daughter cells produced

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. Prophase: Mitosis begins in prophase. The chromosome copies are complete, organized, and held together in the center of the cell. Each chromosome pair resembles an X. In prophase, the membrane surrounding the nucleus also breaks down. 2. Metaphase :During metaphase, the chromosome copies, which are attached in the form of an X, line up in the center of the cell. I had it saved in my work when I took this lesson.
