1. Prophase: Mitosis begins in prophase. The chromosome copies are complete, organized, and held together in the center of the cell. Each chromosome pair resembles an X. In prophase, the membrane surrounding the nucleus also breaks down.

2. Metaphase :During metaphase, the chromosome copies, which are attached in the form of an X, line up in the center of the cell.
