what is the maximum profit in this profit function P(x)=40x^(3/2)-100x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't think this function has a max, but instead it has a min

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it has, my madam told me so. but how to compute it, that's my problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can take the derivative, set = 0 and solve, but this does not have a max as x gets larger, so does this funciton

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, I've already tried it but i got only the min

our teacher gave us a clue. we can use the extreme value theorem. how to do it? i don't know.
