The side opposite to the right angle is the hypotenuse. Use cosine or sine to solve for the other sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cos(45) = 7 / x => x = 7 / cos(45) => x = 9.9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The other angle is 45. so this is a 45-90-45 triangle, x=(square root of 2 )*7. y=7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so when it is a 45/90/45 triangle all i have to do is multiply by the square root of 2?

Are you using trigonometry or geometry?
