I created a survey, now I just need about five or so people to take it. I also need to know your age and gender, if you don't mind. :) Real name is not needed. :) I'll post it into the comments.

Female, 56 1. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the least and 5 being the worst, mark each challenge as it would affect you personally in your own life -- Obesity 5 Violence 4 Depression 3 Teen Pregnancy and Parenting 2 Unhealthy Dating relationships 1 (for me, this is really "n/a") 2. True or False: Have you been a part of a violent act(s). True False - x 3. Have you ever smoked tobacco? No, thank heavens. 4. True or False: Have you abused one or more substance? True - x False 5. Do you or any of your friends have an eating disorder? Why? I tend to think that nearly everyone in this country has an eating disorder. Too much processed food. Have you any idea what the combination of fat, sugar, and salt does to the brain? Completely rewires it. I cringe every time I see parents giving small children sodas, fast food, and cheap candy. No wonder obesity is on the rise. No wonder childhood diabetes is on the rise. No wonder we're one of the unhealthiest nation of people on the planet, despite our collective wealth. I have also seen more pointedly what one would call "eating disorders" in my own family. One of my sisters was anorexic for many years in her early 20s, and it took years before she could reclaim a normal relationship with food. Another sister has more recently been embarking on extreme dieting -- that horrible one with the injections -- such that where she used to be strong and fit, she now looks emaciated. The extreme dieting is unnatural, and sets her up for binge eating as a result. When her body drives her again to eat to regain some of what she has lost, she then speaks in scorn and derision of herself. And where the rest of us now see unhealthily thin, when she's on the down side of this equation, she sees only fat that needs yet to go. What sets this sort of thing in motion, dividing one part of the self from another? The issue is far too deep and complex for me to diagnose. I do know that we were raised in a tense and unhealthy household, where one man's mental and emotional instability was the framework for our lives. The ripple effect of this has extended out from our childhood into the whole of our adult lives. It is true that you cannot predict where children will go with the world you give them when they are young: they are much much more than simple mirrors of what you provide. But if you give them a world that is very bad, it will be that much more difficult for them to claw their way out to sanity. And it is for this reason, too, getting back to your first question, that the issue of teen pregnancy ought to be one of concern to us all. Teens need to be given the room to grow and mature and make their own way in life, before they can hope to provide the kind of rich, loving, and stable environment that young children need. All too often everyone suffers in this scenario: the child-parents, the children born to children, and the community at large. (I digress, I know, but the issue was raised in the first question, and it is an important one.)
.Mark each challenge based on which would effect you worst. 5 being the worst case scenario. False 3.Have you ever smoked tobacco? No. 4.True or False: Have you abused one or more substance? False 5.Do you or any of your friends have an eating disorder? Why? I probably do know somebody who does, but nobody has came out and told me. I do not either. People have eating disorders for the same reason people cut or kill themselves. Problems in their life, and that's their way of coping. Whether society views it as right or not. They are convinced it's helping them. In this case, they believe it's helping them to lose weight and look better. Female. 17.
