First you can reduce rad (48), into rad (16) x rad (3) (16x3=48) and then get 4rad(3) (the square root of 16 is 4)
and reduce rad (54) into rad (9) x rad (6) (9x6=54) and then get 3rad (6) (the square root of 9 is 3) then add/ subtract like terms
