x^2+2x-15 x^2+5x-3x-15 (x^2+5x)+(-3x-15) x(x+5)-3(x+5) (x-3)(x+5) So x^2+2x-15 completely factors to (x-3)(x+5)

Wow that is a terrible thing to say and I highly doubt that you are unable to grasp factoring. Factoring isn't very hard you just need to put the time in to learn it. Alternatively you can just use the quadratic formula to solve these questions. Doing them mentally can be faster though once you understand how to.
