label your variables and set up a system of 2 eq

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 slices of pizza + 5 softdrinks = 31.60 5 slices of pizza + 4 softdrinks = 26.02 so... 1 slice of pizza + 1 softdrink = 31.60 - 26.02 = 5.58 if you multiply that price by 5 5 slices of pizza + 5 softdrinks = 5.58 x 5 = 27.90 if you subtract that from group one: 6 slices of pizza + 5 softdrinks = 31.60 5 slices of pizza + 5 softdrinks = 27.90 that leaves: 1 slice of pizza = 31.60 - 27.90 = $3.70 can't help you with the algebraic notation tho :S

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6p + 5d = $31.60 5p + 4d = $26.02 => p = $3.70 / slice of pizza.
