You're posting a lot of questions? Is your book and/or teacher really bad?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummmmm extremly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand with the story problem thing. Never liked 'em.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Try getting a new teacher! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tell me about it. i'm half way through the class for my BA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is the last class i need

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Someone helllp!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea tell me about it

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

2(L + W ) =88 2( (12+L) + 2W) = 152

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Two equations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh damn, that's a good answer! If I could give you another medal I would :-)

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Thankyou! ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a shame none of those are my answers lol

Confession: from elementary school all the way up through college, applied problems have been a thorn in my side. You've gotta get a really good teacher/tutor and also go through tons of these things until you get them. (but look who's talking, the one who still can't do them!)

ha ha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

p=2(l+b)......1 p'=2(l'+b') ......2 perimeter of the rectangle is 88 so p=88 change in width is double the original which is b'=2b change in length is increased by 12 m which is l'=l+12 change in perimeter or p'=152 now the question is find the l=? by putting values in eq: 1 we get 88=2(l+b) 88=2l+2b.....3 now putting values in equation 2 we get 152=2{(l+12)+(2b)} 76=l+12+2b 64=l+2b......4 subtracting eq: 4 from 3 88=2l+2b 64=l+2b we get 24=l hence i think this is the final result hope this help you letting me now that is is right or wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 ( w + L ) = 88 --> w + L = 44 2 [ 2w + L + 12) = 152 -> 2w + L +12 = 76 -> 2w + L = 64 Eliminate: ->w = 20 m => L = 24 m
