Photosynthesis is the process of plants making "food" from sunlight, carbon dioxide and water - basically converting light energy into chemical energy.


Water + Carbon dioxide + sunlight (in the presence of chlorophyll) = Oxygen + glucose/ sucrose

The process consists of two stages, Light Reactions and the Calvin Cycle.
