Every year, millions of acres of land are cleared by uncontrolled forest fires. Which of the following best describes a consequence of these catastrophic events? A. Biodiversity will increase as new species move into the cleared area. B. Invasive species will quickly take over the disturbed area. C. Oxygen levels decrease rapidly in the areas near the fire. D. Only the plants that benefit from fire will survive.
I'm doing a Biology worksheet and I'm very unsure of this one question. I think that it is D. I'm looking in the lesson and cannot find too much about forest fires. Just wondering what any of you might think. I definitely need a little help understanding this.
I think that it is C because trees give us oxygen. but i could be wrong.
Yeah, that was my first thought. Mom thinks so too. Thanks for your input!
Sure thing :)
B & D can be eliminated. Its either A or C. Tricky question...
Ambiguous, I know. It's C, I'm sure of it. Because that's the only one that is a "consequence" and A is not even relevent. D just doesn't make any sense, and it's a benefit not a consequence. Thanks guys!
