Suppose that part of a comet’s path approximates a branch of a hyperbola with the sun at the focus. At its closest approach to the sun, the comet is 21 million miles away. Assume that the center of its path is at   0,0 and its vertex is 9 million miles from the center. Write an equation for a hyperbola with one branch that models the path of this comet.
